Player-issue products are items that look like items worn by players. In the past, these were typically unavailable for sale and were provided only to clubs. Still, in recent years, major sports apparel brands such as adidas, Nike, and Puma have seen the benefit of releasing higher-spec products alongside their replica offering. Commercially available player specification kits are described as authentic, but this doesn't mean that standard replicas are inauthentic (aka fake or false). Player-issue and replica products differ by item, era, and brand. Still, a player-issue jersey will typically be a tighter fit and made of lightweight materials, including a transfer (plastic) badge and perhaps even a smaller print.
